Kuba Ryniewicz schreibt: All fences and gates from Poland I found attractive:) Most of images from this set were made in my home town - Puszczykowo. All these fences were produced in the communist era. There is suprisingly lots of diversity, however there are specific trends in their aesthetic. Fences and gates are also sort of ID of the family. You cannot come inside without an invitation, but can see a bit of privacy.
After 1989 when communism in Poland died trends in popular aesthetics changed dramatically, people start to build horrible walls- all the same boring patterns and very monoculture. I just made a little album with selection of 50 photographs, all from Puszczykowo. Book is simply titled “P£OT” = FENCE. I tried to present different types that are all over Poland, but secretly dissapearing from the landscape.
